Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DE&I Committee) is focused on developing programming, partnerships, and resources for members of Austin SHRM and the community to promote diversity as a strategic component in individual and organizational success.
Purpose, Goals & Objectives:
To position global diversity and inclusion as a strategic component critical to individual and organizational success; to provide programs and resources that increase cross cultural competencies in a global and virtual workforce.
Diversity and Inclusion Programming:
Austin SHRM devotes time and effort to provide sessions and resources that help support diversity initiatives as a strategic component in the individual and organizational success of our members.
The DE&I committee complies resources for monthly observances and resources to expand awareness and appreciation in our community.

Committee Volunteer Opportunities:
There are lots of ways for you to get involved with the D & I Committee. We are looking for volunteer to Chair annual initiatives and assist with committee activities. Time commitments start with as few as 2 hours a month!
Please note: Volunteers must be registered Austin SHRM members and paid in full to be eligible for volunteer positions.
- DEI Coordinator - R esponsible for assisting the VP of DEI with the planning and managing monthly committee meetings and/or other meeting logistics and assist others in the committee as needed.
- DE&I Liaison - Serves as a liaison between Austin and Texas Chapter (District 3) SHRM committees
- DE&I Communication - Write blogs, articles or content for Austin SHRM's Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Professional and Social Forums
- DE&I Programming – Join the team to assist in securing Speakers on trending D & I topics
- DE&I Marketing – Engage D & I related Sponsors, Door Prizes, Conference Silent Auction Baskets & More!
