      Position Description:

      The Employee Relations Specialist sits in a central role to support the internal foundation of relationships that connects employees to each other. We are looking for a dynamic, supportive human resources professional to oversee employee relations throughout our agency.

      This position is being posted at two levels. The applicant selected will be offered the role that aligns with their education and experience

      Employee Relations Specialist - $67,000 - $96,000

      Sr. Employee Relations Specialist - $81,000 - $107,000

      Job Duties/Responsibilities:

      What you will do:
      Employee Relations

      • Provides support to management and employees on employee relations policies, procedures, and programs.
      • Advises managers on employee relations matters to include assessing root causes, determining appropriate strategies for addressing problems, and coaching and supporting managers through execution of identified actions, including corrective actions as appropriate.
      • Recognizes potential statute violations in the workplace and leads or participates in investigations of such matters.
      • Conducts objective and thorough climate assessments and internal investigations of grievances and complaints, as directed.
      • Interprets historical, current, and projected data to identify problems, causes, and areas for which procedural or system changes to positively influence agency culture are indicated.
      • Advises management and employees on TRS policy.
      • Creates and conducts engaging training related to agency policies, federal/state laws, rules and regulations.
      • As needed, receives, reviews, and processes unemployment claims and participates in unemployment hearings.

      Employee Relations Support
      • Prepares or assists in the preparation of human resources reports to include gathering, compiling, and analyzing data.
      • Assists with and prepares/presents information related to employee relations matters.
      • Prepares and presents information related to employee relations matters. (Sr.)
      • Maintains employee relations files and ensures that the TRS records retentions standards are met.
      • Conducts exit interviews and maintains reporting related to information received from exit interviews.
      • Assists in planning, developing, reviewing, revising, and implementing human resources processes and activities related to employee relations activities.
      • Provides back-up support to department staff.
      • Performs related work as assigned.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      What you will bring:

      Required Education
      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or closely related field.
      High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time directly related human resources generalist experience may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

      Required Experience
      Three (3) years of full-time directly related, progressively responsible experience in coordinating employee relations activities, providing advice and consultation to all levels of management on employee relations issues.
      Five (5) years of full time directly related, progressively responsible experience in coordinating employee relations activities, providing advice and consultation to all levels of management on employee relations issues. (Sr.)

      Experience conducting internal employee relations investigations, which includes writing investigation reports.

      Position Summary:

      The HR & Total Rewards Coordinator plays a critical support role within the Human Resources department, contributing to the administration of employee benefits as well as leave of absence management, workplace accommodations and HR compliance initiatives. This position ensures accurate recordkeeping, supports employee inquiries, helps maintain compliance with employment laws, and contributes to a smooth and supportive employee experience.

      Job Duties/Responsibilities:

      Priorities:
      • Benefits Administration: Support day-to-day administration of employee benefits; assist employees with benefit-related questions and enrollment, qualifying life events, and terminations; Coordinate open enrollment and benefit communications; support annual notices and employee communications; assist with annual 401(k) compliance testing and audits.
      • Leave Management & Accommodations: Serve as primary point of contact for managing employee leave of absences; track leave requests and documentation, coordinate with payroll and managers; facilitate the interactive process for ADA accommodations; maintain accurate records of leaves and accommodations.
      • HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and ADA; Assist with annual compliance filings and notices (e.g., 5500’s, ACA reporting).
      Position Summary:
      • Maintain employee records in the HRIS and assist with data entry, reporting and audits
      • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
      • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, pay, benefits and leave programs
      • Help coordinate HR projects such as handbook revisions, wellness programs and engagement initiatives
      • Ensure consistency and accuracy in HR-related materials and messaging
      • Provide support and backup for other HR functions as needed

      Minimum Qualifications:
      Technology Skills:

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, Canva, and Outlook.
      • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (Paycom a plus).
      • Experience with Presentation Software (Canva preferred)
      • Compensation Management Tools (ERI a plus)
      • Competent with Microsoft Teams.
      • High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time directly related human resources generalist experience may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      Technology Skills:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
      • 2+ years of Human Resource with focus on benefits a plus
      • Experience with benefit brokers
      • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, benefits management, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, and federal and respective state employment laws.
      • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

      Salary: $22-$26 Per Hour
