Austin SHRM - Breast Cancer Awareness month

Austin SHRM is acknowledging the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness month; we would like to inspire hope in those of you who have experienced this disease either personally or someone you know or may have lost to this disease. Please remember it is essential for early detection, education, and providing any support services that may be available.

Austin SHRM wants to remind everyone October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please know you can do the following items to show your support:

Volunteer your Time with an Organization to help raise awareness of this disease.
Educate your Community by spreading the word to your family and friends about the importance of getting a mammogram.
Check your own health

Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC): Offers free programs, including a variety of services and support groups, to help people navigate the cancer journey
Capital of Texas Team Survivor (CTTS) or Team Survivor: Free educational exercise programs
Cleaning for a Reason: Provides free home cleaning to patients battling cancer
Community Care Advisory Board: Opportunity for cancer patients, survivors, and loves one to connect with peers and share personal opinions, experiences, or perspectives to help inform patient care
Regarding Cancer: Local peer support.
