“The Future of Work and the Workforce in Texas”  
in conjunction with the Texas Association of Business

Explore what the future of work will look like in Texas for the next 3-5 years and how economic and business trends will affect educational alignment, workforce needs, talent acquisition/retention trends, and the growing skills gap dilemma. Top business, educational and government experts will discuss critical business and economic questions regarding the future work outlook in Texas and provide insights and strategic direction on how these projected economic / business trends will impact the workplace landscape in Texas.

  • Presenters will provide an expert critical overviews of future work trends and educational/workforce issues that will face Texas in the next 3-5 years
  • Participants will gain insights on what the business and economic impact will be as a result of future work/workforce trends

Workforce Initiatives: Getting Talent to Work –2nd Chance Hiring

As Texas and other states across the country move closer towards full employment status, there has become a growing need among business leaders and employers to identify workers they can hire who can help fill their talent gaps. In this search to find this talent, business and government leaders and human resource professionals have had to explore more strategically creative methods to seek out talent pools that can help alleviate their talent gaps. One such talent pool that has now become a viable focal point to source workers are job applicants with criminal records. In this presentation, top business leaders, human resource professionals, and government experts will address and answer critical business questions regarding the hiring of applicants with criminal records and discuss how this practice will strategically change the landscape in hiring a qualified future workforce.

Reservation/Cancellation Policy

Registrations must be received before close of business on the Monday prior to the event so that we may turn in a headcount.  Onsite registrations are accepted at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. If you can't make the event, please let us know 72 hours beforehand by sending an email to ahrma@austinhumanresource.org, so that we can cancel your registration. Please note, refunds will not be issued after the 72 hour mark as we pay the venue based on the number of attendees reserved - including no-shows.
